MT-USAW Coaches & Officials
The following link is to the Ohio “Green Book” which I send out to all the high school officials across the state each year. It does a great job explaining the actual rulebook in terms fairly easy for people to understand. Please post it as well with an explanation.
2019 Freestyle/Greco Roman/Female Rulebook & Guide to Wrestling
April 2017: A few weeks ago we sent out information regarding the new rules for 2017. At that time, we were only using them for our National Juniors and down. After the 1-S Referee meeting in Sofia last week, these changes have now been updated in the UWW Rule Book and are now being used for all age groups. As a result, we will begin using them in US for all age groups too. This includes the Open in Vegas, UWW Junior Trials, University Nationals, UWW Cadets, etc...
From the original changes, the only difference is with Fleeing the Hold. Now Fleeing the Hold can be called in the last 10 seconds of the match without giving a warning. The referee should still stop the match when requesting Fleeing the Hold so that the clock stops. The only change is that if this occurs in the last :10, the referee does not have to give an Attention before making the call.
Here is an updated the video presentation on YouTube. You can access it from the USWOA website or through this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv69dNVDCQw&feature=youtu.be
